TawÄf Prayer
Issue 287. It is obligatory after tawÄf to offer two-rak’ahs prayer for one's tawÄf and one has the choice to recite it loudly or quietly. Also determination is obligatory in intention, as it has been mentioned in the intention of the tawÄf in addition to seeking nearness and sincerity.
Issue 288. There must not be a gap between the tawÄf and its prayer. The gap is determined according to the common view.
Issue 289. TawÄf prayer is just like that of morning. One can read any chapter after al-FatihÌ£ah, except the four chapters of obligatory prostration. It is mustahÌ£abb in the first rak’ah to recite chapter al-Tawḥīd after al-FÄtihÌ£ah and in the second chapter al-kÄfirÅ«n.
Issue 290. It is obligatory to pray behind the MaqÄm IbrÄhÄ«m (a.) and near to it unless one is crowded out. If one could not, he / she can pray in the Masjid al-HÌ£arÄm behind the MaqÄm even for some distance. It is even not remote that offering prayer at any site in the Masjid al-HÌ£arÄm would be valid.
Issue 291. If one deliberately neglects tawÄf prayer, his / her hajj would be void. But if the neglect was absent-mindedly and the return to Masjid al-HÌ£arÄm to offer it at its particular place was not hard for him / her, he / she should return and pray it there, while if one remembers it after he / she had left Mecca, he / she should do it at that place at which he / she remembers it.
Issue 292. The rule of ignorant (whether he / she is blameworthy or non-blameworthy) in the previous issue is the same as that of forgetful.
Issue 293. If someone during sa‘y remembers that he / she had neglected the tawÄf prayer, he should discontinue his / her sa‘y, offer the prayer in its particular place and then return to complete the sa‘y from the point of discontinuation.
Issue 294. If a man offers his prayer parallel with a woman, then if he is ahead, even a little, there would be no doubt about the validity of their prayer (both). The case is the same if they are separated even by no more than a span.
Issue 295. It is not known whether praying the tawÄf prayer in congregation is lawful or not.
Issue 296. It is obligatory for each mukallaf to learn the correct prayer to perform their duty in the right way especially for those who want to go to hajj.
